Viktor Turin, USSR Film director.


Turin, Viktor was born in 1895.


Studied at the Theatre School, Petersburg. Graduated from the Boston Institute of Technology.


In 1912, went to the USA. Worked in Hollywood as an actor and librettist. Returned to the USSR, 1922. Made some propaganda documentaries, then a feature film, Nas Bylo Troe, 1928.

His major work was the documentary Turksib, about the Turkestan-Siberian Railway. His last film was Bakintsy (The People of Baku), 1938.
