Vincent Giarrano was born on November 17, 1960, in New York City, New York, United States.
Vincent Giarrano revealed his passion for drawing as a youngster. He entered the State University of New York at Buffalo and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1982.
It was followed three years later by a Master of Arts degree from Syracuse University.
Later, engrossed in realist painting, he explored the art of John Singer Sargent, and developed his skills in the area at various workshops.
Vincent Giarrano started his career as a comic book artist and illustrator in Marvel Comics and DC Comics.
By the beginning of the 21st century, Giarrano came back to his passion for fine arts, with special attention to realist painting. After a short period of training in the area, the artist started to regularly present his works both at solo and group shows since the middle of the 2010s, including the exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D. C., and the National Portrait Gallery in London.
The artist has tried his hand as an educator as well. He has taught portrait, figure drawing, and Plein air painting at the Washington Art Association and at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D. C.
