Henry Clay Meredith, 1870 (died 1882). On death of husband took active management of the homestead in Wayne Company, Indiana, and became successful breeder of Shorthorn cattle and Southdown sheep. Was special lecturer at State Farmers’ Institutions.
President Indiana Union of Literature Clubs, 1893.
Appointed 1891, member board lady managers Chicago Exposition, and as chairman of its commission on awards had charge of selection and appointment of over 100 women judges from the leading nations.
