In 2006 he took part in the 56th Sanremo Music Festival with his song "Davvero" and later he published his songs "Instabile" and "Novembre", but they were not successful. On March 8 he published his second studio album Finalmente and his songs "Ad occhi chiusi" and "Sale" with their music videos. The album has sold over 30,000 copies and it was certified gold.
In 2013 Simonelli wrote the song "Limpido" with Laura Pausini.
