Vitaly Petrovich Petrov was born on February 4, 1955 in Studenki village, Usmansky District, Voronezh Region, Russian Federation.
In 1969 Vitaly Petrovich graduated from the Lipetsk Regional Cultural and Educational School in Zadonsk town, Russian Federation. After that, he entered Kalinin Musical College (Tver') and finished it in 1973. Another one educational establishment he graduated from was the Voronezh State Institute of Arts (1978), where his teacher was N.I. Sinitsyna.
Vitaly Petrovich Petrov is the lead singer of the Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg) Opera and Ballet Theater since 1978, where he performed central roles as well. For example: Lensky, Chaplitsky, Chekalinsky ("Eugene Onegin", "The Queen of Spades" by Tchaikovsky), Streshnev ("Khovanshchina" by Modest Mussorgsky), Ovlur ("Prince Igor" Borodin Porfiryevich), Leshy ("The Snow Maiden" Nicolae Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov), Monostatos ("The Magic Flute" by Wolfgang Mozart), Gaston ("La Traviata" by Giuseppe Verdi), Spoletta, Goro ("Tosca", "Madame Butterfly" by Giacomo Puccini) and others.
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1988), the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region award holder (2003). Repeatedly toured abroad and recorded some CDs.
For almost 40 years he has been working in the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater. His audience noticed his good physical shape and unique voice. His admirers pointed out his theatrical skills.
Vitaly Petrovich Petrov has a son Alexei, who is also an artist of the opera and works for Sverdlovsk State Philharmonic (lead singer).
