1900-1907 lecturer, Chair of Botany, Saint St. Petersburg University, and Women's Medical Institute. Also taught on advanced courses in pharmaceutics and natural sci for women. 1907-1922 professor of plant physiology and microbiology, Don Polytcch Institute, Novocherkassk.
1910-1922 founder and rector, Advanced Women's Courses in Natural Sciences, later renamed Don Agric Institute. 1923-1925 head, Chair of Plant Physiology, Moscow Timber Institute. 1926-1927 head, Laboratory of Plant Physiology, Nikita Botanical Gardens, Crimea.
From 1928 head, Department of Biology, Moscow Wood Research Institute, and head, Chair of Botany, Moscow Timber Institute. 1923-1927 associate, then member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics State Planning Committee. Research included study of effects of toxic substances on plants, the antagonism of salts as a basis for the chemical improvement of solonetz (a dark, strongly alkaline soil), the water regime in various types of wood, the anatomy of the saxaul, the pigments bacteriopurpurine and zoopurpurine, et cetera
