Writer and scientist Worked at Moscow Centre of Cybernetics. Arrested for possessing banned literature 1963, confined to Leningrad Psychiatric Prison Hospital for 15 months.
Arrested for demonstration on behalf of Soviet writers 1965, confined for 8 months in psychiatric institutions.
Arrested for civil rights work 1967, on trial September 1967 and sentenced to 3 years’ corrective labour. Arrested for delivering information on psychiatric abuse to the West 1971, on trial 1972 and sentenced to 2 years in prison, 5 in a labour camp and 5 in exile.
After world-wide campaign for his release, was exchanged for Chilean Communist Party leader Luis Corvalan in Zurich December 1976. Research work, Stanford University, California since 1982.
