CHELINTSEV, Vladimir was born on February 22, 1877.
From 1910 professor, Moscow University. From 1917 professor, Saratov University. His research was of great importance for development of chemistry of organic magnesium compounds.
Isolated individual organic magnesium compounds, devised theory of their structure, explained mechanism of their formation and showed in 1904 that ether and tertiary amino acids act as catalysts in Grignard’s reaction. In reaction of simple ethers, sulphides and tertiary amino acids on individual organic magnesium compounds he established formation of oxone, thionic and ammonium complexes, determined temperature of their formation and temperature of their solution in water. By studying highest valencies in oxygen, sulphuric and nitrous organic compounds he compiled a table of their thermochemical properties.
Studied chlorophyl and hemin. Foundation methods of synthesizing new pyrrole compounds, Ketonic acids, isomeric and non-saturated acids. Studied condensation of furane derivatives.
Devised methods of determining small quantities of acetone, furfural, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, et cetera
Since religion offers a complete set of answers to the problems of purpose, morality, origins, or science, it discourages exploration of those areas by suppressing curiosity, denies its followers a broader perspective, and prevents social, moral and scientific progress.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
Correspondent member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences from 1933.
