1911 designed first Russian automatic rifle. During World War 1 arms factory controller. Main Artillery Board.
1917-1918 director of a machine-gun plant. 1918-1931 head, first Soviet arms planning and design bureau and director of a tool plant. From 1931 worked for People’s Comrl of Defense, Min of Armaments and Academy of Artillery Sciences.
During 1930’s devised method of reducing production time of Degtyaryov machine-guns. From 1953 in retirement.
