1905 member, Socialist-Revol Party. 1906 sided with Party’s maximalist wing. 1917 member. Central Committee, Labor Group, then member, Central Committee, People's Socialist Party and chairman of its Petrograd City Committee.
Late 1917 and 1918 engagedi in underground work against Soviet regime in Petrograd and Vologda. Member, anti-Soviet Renaissance League. 1918 comissar, Arkhangelsk Province.
Until August 1919 member. Northern Oblast Government. 1920 founded All-Siberian Peasants’ Union, which directed anti-Soviet revolts in Siberia.
1920 arrested; 1922 defendant in trial of Central Committee, Right-Wing Socialist-Revol Party. Sentenced to death but amnestied after publicly recognizing Soviet regime. Subsequently worked for Soviet organs.
Later arrested by State Security organs.
