After graduate intern, Therapeutic Clinic, St. Petersburg Military Med Academy. From 1899 worked at T. P. Pavlov’s Clinic for Skin and Venereal Diseases. 1900 defended doctor’s thesis on the histological structure of skin syphilids.
1900-1902 worked abroad under I. I. Mechnikov and A. M. Bczredka at Pasteur Institute and Gallopo, Brock, Darier and Fournier’s clinics in Paris and at Neisser, Unna and Jadassohn’s clinics in Germany. From 1904 associate professor, St. Petersburg Military Med Academy. 1913-1917 head, Chair of Skin and Venereal Diseases, Pctro- graduate Psychoneurological Institute.
1917-1925 head. Chair of Skin and Venereal Diseases, Moscow University. From 1925 head. Dermatological Department, Obukh Institute of Occupational Diseases. 1916 initiated production of salvarsan preparations in Russia.
Founded school of dermatological occupational pathology. Made important contributions to the study of the chemotherapy of syphilis, papular- necrotic tuberculosis of the skin, multiple sarcomatosis of the skin, epidermitis in the region of wounds and experimental leprosy. 1917 chairman, All-Russian League Against Venereal Diseases.
1923 chairman, 1st All-Russian Congress on Venereal Diseases. 1919-1928 chairman, Moscow Vcncrological and Dermatological Social. Honorary member, Moscow, Kiev, Odessa and Don dermatological soc.
Correspondent member, Berlin Dermatological Social. 1904 attended 5th International Dermatological Congress. 1923 Soviet deleg, 3rd International Congress on Leprosy.
