He graduated from the graphic arts department of the Kursk State Pedagogical Institute (1968, teachers VI Erofeev, IP Shcherbakov). He was the participant of city thematic, regional, zone, republican, all-Union exhibitions since 1968.
He was the author of decorative ceramics, tapestries “To be ships of the sea” (1979), a series of tapestries “The Russian field” (1987-1989), a diptych “Archangels Gabriel and Michael” (1992), “Flame” (1993) of the works Landscapes of Our Land (1994-1996): "The wood sounds", "Way to truth", "Yellow wind", "Rainbow" and other works. Korovnikov's personal exhibition took place in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists in 1989 (together with VK Melnichenko).
