1919-1920 chairman, Ryazan’ Province Food Conference. 1921 deputy chairman, Main Polit Education Committee, People's Commissariat of Education. 1922 Deputy People's Commissar of Education.
Then worked for All-Russian Central Executive Committee Publ House. From 1925 dean, Economy Faculty, Timiryazev Agric Academy. Presidium member, Communist Academy.
Taught at various higher educational establishments. During Brest-Litovsk Peace Treaty controversy sided with Leftist Communist. 1920-1921 active member, “Democratic Centralism” group.
1923 joined “New Opposition”. 1925 broke with opposition after 14th Party Congress. Arrested by State Security organs.
