In 2009 - 2012 Vladimir Peftiev was head of the Belarusian national tennis association. During this period the Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka has risen to become Women's Tennis Association number 1.
Azarenka is reported to have started her career at a tennis club created by Peftiev"s company Beltechexport.
