Vladimir SHCHEGLOV, USSR Astronomer. Professor; Doctor of Physicotechn. Science; corresponding member, Uzbek Academy of Sciences, since 1956; Professor, Chair of General Mech., Central Asian University, Tashkent, since 1948; Director, Tashkent Astronomical Observatory, since 1941. Uzbek Supreme Soviet Presidium's Scroll of Honor; Order of Red Banner of Labor.


SHCHEGLOV, Vladimir was born in 1904.


1930 graduated Moscow Surveying Institute.


Main works deal with practical astronomy and time service. Series of works devoted to hist, of astronomy.


Since religion offers a complete set of answers to the problems of purpose, morality, origins, or science, it discourages exploration of those areas by suppressing curiosity, denies its followers a broader perspective, and prevents social, moral and scientific progress.


Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
