Vladimir Shliapentokh, USSR Professor of sociology.


Emigrated from the Soviet Union in the 1970s. Settled in the USA. Staff lecturer at Michigan State University. Once conducted polls for Pravda, Izvestia, and other Soviet newspapers.

His article about the ethnic disturbances in Armenia and Azerbaidzhan (written in collaboration with D. Shliapentokh) was run by the Los Angeles Times and the International Herald Tribune (5 March 1988).
