1915 graduate Moscow Higher Technical College.
While still a student began working on propeller theory with North. Ye. Zhukovskiy; 1913 refined propeller theory by including the factor of the change in the circulation of longitudinal blade speed. After graduate taught at Moscow Higher Technical College, Military Aviation Engineer Academy and Moscow Aviation Institute.
1916 founded an experimental calculation bureau at Moscow Higher Technical College, where he calculated aircraft reliability factors and designed airscrews. From 1918 associate, Centr Aerodynamics Institute. From 1928 professor, Moscow Aviation Institute.
Did research on the curvilinear and continuous motion of aircraft on and near the ground and in regular flight. Conducted experiments to determine the stresses on aircraft performing aerobatics. Did major research on aircraft reliability.
Also worked on navigational astronomy, ballistics, jet flight and computation techniques. Made a study of wind power, wind motors and fans. Helped edit North. East. Zhukovskiy’s works.
Member, Academy of Artillery Sciences.
