ZAVARITSKY, Vladimir was born in 1889 in Ufa.
As a student worked at Kherson Experimental Agriculture Station. Since 1913 at Moscow Agriculture Institute, now Timiryazev Agriculture Academy. Since 1918 Presidium Secretary, Bureau of AllRussian Congresses on Experimentation.
1920-1923 simultaneously Deputy Chairman, Moscow Oblast Experimental Board. Since 1924 pedologist, Moscow Pedological Institute, now the State Pedological Institute, Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic Popular Commissariat of Agriculture. Simultaneously associate, “Soil” Section, Bureau for the Study of Production Resources, USSR State Planning Committee.
1929-1931 member, Bureau of Commissioners, Union of Pedologists. 1931-1938 Learned Secretary, Soviet Section, International Association, of Pedologists. Since 1938 member, Organization Committee of above assoc, after its reorgan, as All-Union Society of Pedologists, USSR Academy of Science.
