He graduated from gymnasium in 1918 and graduated from Petrograd University in 1926.

Career

Developed new methods of absolute surface photometry of heavenly bodies. Designed numerous instruments for measuring the brightness of natural bodies and the range of visibility. Works deal with planets and atmospheric optics.

1936-1941 at Main Astronomical Observatory, USSR Academy of Science, Pulkovo.
