Since 1949 member, Editorial Board, “Bolshaya sovetskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Soviet Encyclopedia). Chairman, USSR-Norway Society. At 1952 Communist Party of the Soviet Union Congress candidate member of the Central Committee.
1953 headed delegate of Soviet cultural personalities to Warsaw. 1956 headed Soviet delegation at “month of Soviet-Rumanian friendship”, Rumania. 1957 headed Soviet cultural delegation Bulgaria.
1960 headed Soviet-Chineses Frindship Society delegation China. Member, Communist Party. Has written books on the conversion of winter hereditary varieties of cereal crops into spring hereditary varieties and vice versa.
