Vu Quoc Dung has had a strong passion for drawing since his early childhood. He always drew on whatever he could, for instance, on hand or even on school textbooks, a move which usually upset his teachers. Vu completed his studies at the Fine Arts University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2008.
Vu currently serves as a faculty member and an art teacher at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts. In addition to his teaching career, he devotes a lot of his time to painting. In 2009 the artist participated in the Youth Exhibition (BIEAMALE) and the following year in the Exhibition of Creativity Campus of Ho Chi Minh City Art Association as well as in My homeland Ocean & Islands, organized in Vietnam. Besides, in 2010 he displayed his works at the National Art Exhibition.
Most recently, his artworks were exhibited in the Graphic Art Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2011 he sold one of his paintings during the Operation Smile Auction.
Unlike many young Vietnamese artists of his age, who paint with critical realism, Vu QD prefers to capture remarkable moments of our life and depicts them in his paintings so that everybody can feel, enjoy and treasure the beauty of life and what surrounds it. His paintings are a reflection of who the artist is, and what he thinks and feels about life; they create a sense of tranquility and serenity in the hearts of viewers.

Quotations: "What I draw really reflects who I am, how I feel and what I think about life. Playing with pencils, oil, & colors have always brought me peace and comfort. My emotion is embedded in my art which exposes my inner side. And now, as an art teacher, I always focus on inspiring my students with what I learn along the way."
