Formerly a partner in the firm of Hubbel-Benes Company, Benes retired from practice several years ago to his home at Chagrin Falls, Ohio. The firm designed a number of important buildings in Cleveland, notable examples of which were the Art Museum in Wade Park in 1916, St. Luke's Hospital, 1927, Masonic Temple and Auditorium, Citizens Bank Building in Ohio. Telephone Company Building, building for the "Cleveland Plain Leader," and later additions to the structure.
