The firm was founded in 1967 by Las Vegas litigator Sam Lionel and former Nevada Governor Grant Sawyer, now deceased. With the addition of former Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice Jon Collins, now deceased, the firm adopted its current name. The firm grew to become the largest private law firm in Nevada.
