Volunteered as first Missionary to the Haidas of Queen Charlotte’s Islands, who were known then as the “Pirates of the North Pacific Coast,” being the finest and fiercest of the Coast Indians, 1876. Opened the Inland Mission to Gitikshans, 1880.
Secretary to the North British Columbia Mission of the Chief Mississippi (United States) Society, and Bishop’s Commissary, 1893-1894.
