Takatori Wakanari was a Japanese painter (Japanese style).
Background
Takatori Wakanari was born in Saga Prefecture, 1867.
Education
Studied painting under Nukitsura Yarnana and culture from Sukehisa Matsubara.
Career
He served the Imperial Court and did much art work fo r the Imperial Palace (1885-88), and secured many prizes for his outstanding works in several art exhibitions. One of his masterpieces "The General Leaving Kyoto on His Punitive Expedition to the Eastern Region" still hangs in the art gallery at the Meiji Shrine.
