HAFFKINE, Waldemar Mordecai Wolff was born in March 1860 in Odessa. Son of late Aaron Haffkine, Odessa, and Rosalie, daughter of David - Aisic Landsberg.

Studied at Classical College Berdiansk (Southern Russia), 1872-1879. And Odessa University, Faculty of Science, 1879-1883. Science Degree, Odessa, 1884.

Engaged in research work at the Zoological Museum, Odessa, 1883-1888.

Career

Assistant Professor of Physiology, Geneva Medical School, Switzerland, 1888-1889. Assistant to Pasteur, Paris, 1889-1893. On bacteriological research duty, India, since 1893, Member of Society of Naturalists of NovaRossia, Odessa, 1885.
