He played with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has four children all boys named David, Timothy, Robert, and Bradley. Wally has eight grandchildren named Allison, Kimberly, Kelsey, Kolin, Taylor, Alex, Sienna, and Kylie.
He started a family business called Suede Master, a cleaning company that cleans suede and leather.
