He is known for his award winning work for many companies such as Schmersal and Busch-Jaeger. According to TEAMS GmbH, Walter has been instrumental in extending many long term relationships with companies such as Robert Bosch GmbH and Still Forklift (KION Group). He specializes in 3D Computer-aided Design, such as Rhinoceros 3D, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks and Unigraphics to bring his designs to life.
From -2002 Walter and his associate partner, Danos Papadopoulos, ran an office called Wings of Design in Wuppertal.
Heidenfels then opened the Hamburg office of TEAMS Design with Ulrich Warth in 2002. Today he continues to active contribute to the design culture at TEAMS. Heidenfels is also regularly asked to contribute articles and lecture at neighboring universities.
