He was Rector of Street Mary's Church, Mitchell, South Dakota, then Dean of Calvary Cathedral, Sioux Falls and lastly the Bishop of South Dakota before returning to Canada. He became Bishop of Rupert"s Land in 1983 and Archbishop and Metropolitan of Rupert"s Land in 1987. He retired in 1994 and died in 2003.
