Ledermann, Walter was born on March 18, 1911 in Berlin. Son of William and Charlotte (Apt) Ledermann. arrived in Great Britain, 1934.

Career

He was elected to the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1944. He taught at the universities of Dundee, Street Andrews, Manchester, and finally Sussex. At Sussex, Ledermann was appointed professor in 1965, and he continued to teach until he was 89.

He wrote various mathematics textbooks.
