Entered service of National Provincial Bank of England, 1846. Retired as Chief Cashier at Manchester, 1856, to join his brothers in London in founding the firm of Morgan Brothers, merchants and newspaper proprietors, and the Morgan Crucible Company: the firm consisted of six brothers, who continued in partnership for thirty years, and still so continue, except that death has reduced the number to three. One of the proprietors of The Chemist and Druggist and The Ironmonger Journals.
