Career
Contributor illustrations, cartoons and articles for many years to Harper’s Magazine, Scribner’s, Century, Life, et cetera Painter of portraits. Took up etching and drypoint, 1917.
Produced 1920-1921, as official United States artist, by appointment, of The Arms Conference Memorial Portfolio of portraits in dry-point, from life, of 25 leading statesmen of various countries, attending the Naval Disarmament Conference, at Washington.
Special exhibitions of portraits held at The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, Corcoran Gallery, Library of Congress, Washington, Public Library, New York Exhibited first in London, at Leicester Galleries, 1922. Arms Conference Portfolio, purchased by the British Government for British Museum.
2d Portfolio purchased for South. Kensington Museum. Exhibited in Galerie Dezamber, Paris, 1923.
Represented in many Art Museums of the United States and England Portraits of outstanding persons, both in literature public life, including such people as G. B. Shaw, President Coolidge, President Taft, Joseph Conrad, Joseph Duveen, and Arnold Bennett, Lord Duveen of Millbank.
