Instructor civil engineering, 1889-1895, assistant professor, 1895-1899, professor geodesy, 1899-1934, emeritus, Princeton University. Engineer and architect The Prospect Company.

Designed and constructed a system of jetties for protection of New Jersey coast at Asbury Park and other places. Former borough engineer and township engineer. President Board of Health, Princeton.
