Behrendt, Walter Curt was born on December 16, 1884 in Metz. Son of Alfred and Henriette Behrendt.

Education

Student Technische Hochschule of Charlottenburg, and of Munich, university of Berlin and Munich. Doctor Engineering in architecture, Technische Hochschule, Dresden.

Career

Came to the United States 1934. Civil Service Prussian Ministry Public Works, 1912-1916, Department Housing, 1919-1926, archtl, adviser to minister of finance, Department Public buildings, 1927-1933. Technical director City Planning Association, Buffalo, New York, since 1937.

Professor city planning and housing, University of Buffalo, 1937-1941. Special lecturer, Dartmouth College, 1934-1937, professor city planning and housing since 1941.

  • Author: Modern Building, 1937. And several books in German published in Berlin. Editor of German publications published in Berlin, 1919-1925.

Membership

Served as private German army, in World War, 1916-1918.
