Career

Chief yeoman United States Navy, Spanish-American War, 1898. Began newspaper work with Morning Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, 1899. With editorial department New York Times, 1901-1904.

Extensive contributor to magazines on transportation subjects.

Wrote series of articles for Railway Age, from France and Italy, on transportation problems of the war. Represented Associated Press with Italy Army.

After the Armistice went to Vienna with the retreating Austrian Army and reported downfall of the empire. Later special missions to Balkans, Near East, Russia, et cetera
