In 1906, Raster founded the Justrite Manufacturing Company with Frederick Becker. The company developed, patented and produced industrial safety and waste storage equipment. Justrite became the largest manufacturer of miners" lamps in the United States. Raster patented a number of inventions, including a series of receptacles for oil waste.
He died on 13 January 1944.
