European Theater of Operations, 1944-1945. Promoted Lieutenant general April 1945. Commanding general Sixth Service Command, 1946.

Commanding general Fifth Army, 1946-1948. Commanding general of Eighth Army in Japan since 1948. Participated in Normandy, France and Germany campaigns.
