Wandert Jacobus Dekkers

Background

Wandert Dekkers was born on April 22, 1946 in Haarlem, Noord-Holland, Netherlands. When he was eighteen, he named himself Midas (after Midas Wolf from Donald Duck).

Career

Since 1980, Dekkers has been a columnist for the VARA radio program Vroege Vogels and VARA TV Magazine. He also worked for the television program Nieuwslicht. He stopped on 11 February 2007.

In addition to his columns in Nieuwslicht, Dekkers also made children's programs such as Max Load Capacity and Pootjes. In addition, he made programs for the VARA for adults such as Midas and Gefundenes Fressen and for Omroep MAX The egg of Midas.

Achievements

• As a biologist, Dekkers is known for his sharp observations. He is able to reveal biological-scientific themes with a sense of humor. Thanks to his writing style, his books have many reprints.
