Mr. Lawrence was educated in the city schools (Baltimore), and after taking up architectural study graduated at the Massachusetts Institute ojf Technology.
The young man began his career in the office of McKim, Mead & White, later started practice under his own name.
In 1909 Mr. Lawrence maintained an independent office in Manhattan until his retirement a few years prior to his death. His home was at Roselle, N. J. and he designed the Borough Hall there, and the First National Bank at Redbank, N. J., also various buildings, including many residences, in the greater New York area.
He was elected a member of the New York Chapter, A. I. A. in 1909.
