Wayne Clark Jordan

Background

Wayne was born on February 14, 1885, in Lewiston, Maine, United States.

Education

He received his education at Lewiston Primary and Intermediate Schools and Jordan High School. He also studied at Bates College and graduated from it in 1906. Then during 4 years, he studied in Oxford.

Career

He arrived in China in 1913. In 1914-1915 he was a secretary of a Young Men's Christian Association. Since 1916 till 1921, he worked at Hankow American Volunteer Corporations. Since 1921, he went to the International Committee in Shanghai. There he was in the position of a Field Manager of American Red Cross in China. Then he became a missionary of Young Men's Christian Association.
