Bachelor of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taipei, 1965. Doctor in Medical Sciences, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, 1973. Master in Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, 1989.

Career

Resident department surgery National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei, 1966-1970, deputy director, 1987-1991. Professor surgery public health National Taiwan University College Medicine, since 1975, dean, 1991-1993. President National Taiwan University, 1993—2005.

Chair Association East Asian Research Universities, 2002—2003.
