Wei Kuan Ng started his education of engineering in 2012, where he was enrolled in Foundation of Engineering at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia. Upon a year, he completed the foundation program with flying colors. Then, he continued his study in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the same university. In 2017, he graduated as a first class honors of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia. During his graduation, he was awarded IEM gold medal from Institute of Engineer Malaysia (IEM) due to his excellent performance in education of engineering. Meanwhile, his final year project, titled "Experimental Determination of Fracture Properties of Hybrid Bamboo/Glass Fiber Composites", was listed as best final year project by Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society.
Currently, he is pursuing his degree of doctor of philosophy in Mechanical Engineering, at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where his field of research is on mechanical properties of hybrid bamboo/glass fiber composites.
Wei Kuan Ng started his career of engineering in 2017, where he worked as New Project Introduction mechanical engineer at Likom Caseworks Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Lion Group which manufactures metal and plastic parts for use of electrical and electronic appliances.
As a mechanical engineer in department of New Project Introduction, his role is to develop metal part and plastic part through various manufacturing processes, which include stamping, CNC machining and laser cutting for metal parts while injection molding for plastic parts. Secondary process such as powder coating, spray painting, heat stacking, silk-screening, also need to be developed.
