She attended Valley View High School 1996-1997, and Moreno Valley High School 1997-2000. In College Wendy attended The and played Varsity Softball for the Buckeyes from fall 2000-2002.

In the fall of 2002 she transferred to the where she competed for the Varsity Softball team from 2002-2004. In the 2004 summer she was drafted to play on the now defunct Arizona Heat. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business from the Eller College of Management, she played the 2006 season in Caronno Pertusella, Italy for the Bachelor of Arts Caronno Rheavendors.
In 2006 Wendy joined the University of Redlands coaching staff, first as a volunteer coach and then later as a Graduate Assistant.
In 2008 she graduated with a Master of Arts in Education: Higher Education. 2001: Freshman year

Wendy was drafted onto the 2004 Arizona Heat National Pro Fastpitch team
She led her team in RBIs, doubles and slugging percentage. Her batting average was a close number two.
Half way through season she was sliding into home plate and hurt her injured knee.
Plagued with knee issues, which ended up being a torn meniscus, she declined her NPF all-star selection and had to sit out several games. In 2006 Allen led her Bachelor of Arts Caronno team in batting average, on-base percentage, tied for hits and triples and was second in slugging percentage.
