Education
Born in Brooklyn,she graduated from William Smith College in 1978 with a degree in English and an Art History minor. She studied under Mississippi Elena Ciletti.

Wendy Olsoff

With Penny Pilkington, she co-founded P·P·O·West gallery in the East Village, Manhattan in 1983 which was the first wave of the East-Village Art Scene in New York City in 1983. In 1988 the gallery moved to Soho and in 2002 moved to Chelsea. P·P·O·West maintains a diverse roster of national and international artists including Carolee Schneemann, Martha Wilson, David Wojnarowicz, Martin Wong, Sarah Oppenheimer, Martin + Munoz, Portia Munson, Adam Putnam, Hunter Reynolds and Thomas Woodruff.
She serves on the Council of the Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum.
Since its inception, the gallery has remained true to its early vision, showing contemporary work in all media. There is a commitment to representational painting and sculpture and artists who create work with social and political content.
She has two children, Eden Walker Deering and Cameron Lee Deering.

In 2012 Wendy Olsoff and Penny Pilkington were honored and received a Visual Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome Vanguard Award recognizing their work in the arts and commitment to Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome advocacy and support of artists living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
