Career
He immigrated to Norway in 1786. In 1800 he founded the timber trade company Westye Egeberg & Company in Christiania, which became an important company and was passed on through generations. The company was then passed down to the latter"s children Ferdinand Julian Egeberg and Einar Westye Egeberg, and Westye Egeberg was also a grandfather of physician Theodor Christian Egeberg.
