Served on frontier until 1895, in many Indian campaigns and engagements.
Adjunct United States Military Academy, 1895-1898. Superintendent Yellowstone National Park, commanding Fort Yellowstone, Wyoming, March-June 1899.
In Philippine Islands, commanded Macabebe Scouts 1899-1900 and superintendent of police, Manila, 1901. Commander 168th Infantry Brigade, Camp Taylor, Kentucky, 1917.
In France, 1918-1919.
