Original member of the Malacological Society, 1893. Senior Assistant Lecturer on Biology, Essex County Council, 1893-1898. Editor of the Journal of Malacology, 1895-1897.
Member of the Executive Committee, Imperial Vaccination League, since 1902. Has actively promoted the Nature Study Movement in this country. Member of the Agricultural Education Committee, 1899-1907.
