Transferred to Italy Conference, 1886, and made presiding elder Milan District. Moved to Florence, 1888, and to Rome, 1890, remaining there 14 years in charge of churches and schools of Italy.
Built several churches, founded a public house, organized a boys’ college, a young ladies’ college and other schools.
