Bachelor of Arts 1897. Licentiate in Music, Trinity College, London. Organist and Master of the Choir, St. Patrick’s, Trim, 1881.
Then held appointments at Bray, Rathlarnham, Tallaght, St. George’s, Dublin. Started Dublin Popular Concerts, 1885. Also Belfast and London Popular Concerts.
Career
Ordained, 1898; Assistant Priest, St. Tudy’s, Cornwall, 1899-1901. St. Saviour’s, Walton Street, 1901-1906. St. Mary’s, Seymour Street, North-west, 1907-1908.
Compositions: Comedy Operas—The Knight of the Road. Strongbow; Midsummer Madness. Cantatas—St. Patrick.
The Game of Chess; Samliain. Irish Suite—Rosaleen. Operetta— Noah’s Arkansas (IT.S.).
Songs—The Mountains of Mourne, The Pride of Petravore, Are ye right there, Michael? Maguire’s Motor-bike, etc.
