Member of Senate and Honourable Treasurer, Queen's University, Belfast. Served his apprenticeship with the York Street Flax Spinning Company. Went to Paris, 1862; there for 25 years, represented ffrst the old Company and afterwards the Limited Company.
Twice President of the Paris British Chamber of Commerce.
Lias been residing in Belfast since 18SS. An ex-Presideut of the Belfast Chamber of Commerce and of the Linen Merchants’ Association.
Has taken an active interest in the Irish Presbyterian Church and in local charities. A Senior Managing Director and Vice-Chairman of the York Street Flax Spinning Company, Limited.
